Pete Robbins Transatlantic Quartet

Brooklyn-based alto saxophonist, composer, and "style master" Pete Robbins has achieved "spiralling notoriety within global jazz circles" (JazzReview.com).  He has been featured in Downbeat, Jazztimes, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and many other press outlets.  Robbins’s “Transatlantic Quartet - Live in Basel” was released in February to rave reviews. The quartet will also feature Pete Robbins Mikkel Ploug (DK) – guitar, Simon Jermyn (IRL) - bass guitar and Kevin Brow (CAN/DK) – drums.  A quality jazz rhythm and harmony evening not to be missed!

The Three Wise Monkeys – a tribute to Bill Evans

The three jazz musicians devoted their new programme to the famous piano player Bill Evans. The reason there is no piano in this group is because of the transparency which is automatically given to this line up. Without drums and piano the group play a lot of lines in a finesse way and the rhythmical accentuation lose sight of the missing drums. This trio makes chamber music in a flexible fluent and jazzy way. The trio arranged most of the beautiful tunes of Bill Evens in a new way, but you will also hear standards which adopt Evans as his own.
