Little Artist Club
Every Saturday from 4th March - 29th April
Time: 10.45am - 12.15pm
Booking fee: €8.00
Ages: 4-6 years
In this season's Little Artist Club we will learn about patterns and perspectives, monsters and mechanics, creatures and features and much, much more. Educational, inspirational and that's just the facilitators! Come, have fun and learn a little something too….
Saturday 4th March
Hands and feet and a little perspective
A new season begins so we thought we'd better gain some perspective. What better way to do this than by teaching our little artists how to draw it using their hands and feet.
Saturday 11 March
Paper faces
We all know how to express ourselves, right? Even if it's not splashing paint on a canvas or singing the blues. We all use our big ole face to express how we feel and in this class, we're going to make a hilarious, expressive, mechanical face using simple things like paper/card and paper-fasteners.
Saturday 18th March
Masking tape patterns
Patterns! They're everywhere. There's no escaping them. So we thought we'd create our very own using masking tape and everyday items to print cool designs. But it's all about the awesome peel and reveal at the end. Wall hang-able masterpieces guaranteed.
Saturday 25th March
Peg creatures
Ah, the boring old clothes peg. Tumble-driers have made them all but obsolete. Poor things. What to do with them now then? Why turn them into awesome snapping creatures of course, and at the same time learn a little something about the mechanics of a hinge joint. Who said clothes pegs were boring?
Saturday 1st April
Paper plate dragons
These look so cool but they have to be seen to be believed. Just like real dragons. Who knew paper plates could be so exciting? Make your own dragon to take home and train. Need I say more?
Saturday 8th April
Lollipop lizards
So simple, so colourful and so cool. But you've got to be quick to catch them. Our little artists get the opportunity to bag themselves a few colourful lizards, to take home, made from lollipop sticks and pipe-cleaners. Stick them in your room or hide them around the house to scare your mum or dad.
Saturday 15th April
Toilet roll totems
Recycle those rolls, turn them into totem poles. Sounds like the beginning of some crazy recycling campaign advertisement, doesn't it? It's not, but we will be recycling the often discarded and underappreciated toilet roll. Never have they looked so colourful or amazing.
Saturday 22nd April
Dragon's breath
We really do love dragons here at the Arts Centre. So any excuse to make something related to them we jump on it. Contrary to popular belief, Dragon's breath is not fiery or smelly! It is in fact full of bubbles and smells rather refreshing. Kids love this fun and easy project where we make a dragon's snout that blows out bubbles.
Saturday 29th April
Straw rockets
Get ready for the launch. After this class we fully expect our little artists to be able to teach NASA a thing or two about how to launch a rocket. Cool designs, aero-dynamics and lung power. How high will yours fly?
