From Joyce to Sheridan- Dublin Stories double bill feature in last week of Wexford Opera Fringe Festival activities

29/10/2012

Picture
We had a great weekend of sold out shows with Wexford Drama's one act plays and Musici Ireland Concert.  Red Moon chilled the children's bones with The Haunted Hippo and we had some interesting insight into The Witches in our first Inkling children's reading group.   Dr. Horror's Haunted House is taking over our theatre for family tours starting 2pm Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st October until 5pm and then Professor Arcati's aslyum more suited to age 14+ with tours starting 7pm - 10pm with blood refreshments.

An interesting Dublin stories double bill this week includes the wonderful 47 Roses based on the acclaimed novel of same name by well known writer and director Peter Sheridan about life growing up in 60's Dublin with tales of family life and daily goings on that all can relate to and told in  Peter's captivating and entertaining manner. Peter will perform 2 shows on Thursday 1st November 1pm and 8pm.  Award winning actor Declan O Gorman will then perform The Dubliner's Dilemma a witty play based on the short stories - The Dubliner's by James Joyce on Friday 2nd November 1pm in the apt setting of Spiegeltent - great opportunity to experience this wonderful setting as most Spiegeltent event tickets sold out or selling out fast.  If you would like to book both shows - can call box office and get special offer of 2 tickets for E20.  Tel:  053 9123764.

Another highlight is The Grand Samhain Masqued Mexican Cabaret Fri, 02 November at 9:00pm. Fáilte go Samhain agus El Dia de los Muertos! The last official Cáca Milis of 2012 – you can’t miss it!  With:  Helena Mulkerns and The Featherhead Trio
Special Guest Burlesque Diva Bella Agogo Writer Margaret Hawkins, Cabaret Queen Sharon Clancy, A new short film from Eoin Colfer! The Darling Sins, Khelashi Dance’s Dearbhla Dunne, The amazing sound of The Revelator Orchestra with Peter Murphy and Acko Atkinson.

Children can attend Little Artists club 11am  and  learn some magic and juggling tricks from Jackula on Saturday 3rd November 1pm and 3pm. Then Zrazy, on Saturday 3rd November deliver some class jazz r&b and soul to guide us to the end of another brilliant Wexford Opera Fringe Festival with a final browse around the excellent exhibitions and maybe an investment? with a good cuppa from D'lush Cafe to clear the cobwebs on Sunday 4th November while the kids attend the Children's cine club Princess Lillifee at 12pm.  Speigeltent event tickets also selling fast.  Catch a show while you can in last week of Wexford Opera Festival 2012.
