Wool Spinning and Dying with Plants

2.00 – 5.00pm

Terry the Weaver will give a three hour workshop in learning the skills of hand spinning wool from a sheep's fleece into a woolen thread.  Also you will learn how to dye wool and silk using vegetable dyes (dyes obtained from plants).  Terry has been practicing the art of spinning, dyeing and weaving for more than thirty years and will pass on some of his skills and knowledge in this introductory workshop.

Discovery Club – 3D Lego Mosaics!

Mosaics are the art of making pictures with small pieces of tiles, glass or….LEGO bricks! In this workshop, we will create our own Lego art gallery by making 3D Lego mosaics inspired by famous paintings.

The Discovery Club is facilitated by artist Órla Bates.

'In our Cool 3D Mini-Universe workshop children will take inspiration from well known stories to make their own characters and fun imaginative worlds for them to live in. They will explore the possibilities of a variety of materials, including clay, and will experiment with surface mark making and texture. Every figure will be an individual interpretation of a character. Their individual worlds will be put together to create a mini universe where one tale leads into the next, making a new story, encouraging imagination and creativity in the process.'
