225th Anniversary of 1798 – Summer School Talk

1.30pm – 'Battle of Arklow'  – Christopher Power.With copies of his book available.2.15pm – 'Who Fears To Speak Of '98' – Barry Lacey.Local archaeologist and historian Barry Lacey will provide a rural view of the rebellion, exploring the legacy of the 1798 rebellion using the Ballycarney area as a case study.3pm – 'Through Women's Eyes: Two Centuries Of Rebellion In Ireland' – Dr. Margaret Ward of Queens University.An in-depth look at the role of women during the fight for Irish independence.All events are free to the public but must be booked in advance to secure your ticket.Funding provided by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.
