Suitable for anyone who would like to begin creative writing or who might want a kick start back to writing. On this one-day immersive workshop you will explore the elements of the short story. Plot -The sequence of events that drive the narrative. Characters – Developing living breathing characters as intricate as any human. Conflict – There is no story without conflict. It can be internal or external. Setting – The reader must feel they are being transported. Theme- Explore the underlying message/current. A short story is a complete piece of fiction with a beginning, middle and an ending. This one-day workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to begin fiction writing or who might want a kick start back to it. Sheila Forsey is an Irish Times best-selling author of historical fiction, a short story writer, playwright, and a creative writing tutor. She is also a specialist in schools with The Heritage Council. She is a graduate of Maynooth |University and Trinity College Dublin. Sheila is a past judge of The Maria Edgeworth Short Story Competition.
