Karin Leitner – THE FRENCH WORKS: When feelings speak …

Karin Leitner and Rosanna Moore with support by Wexford Harpist Úna May WalshShimmering soundscapes of flute and harp deliciously put together in a heartwarming concert programme to entice, enchant and delight. Light and airy French sounds with esprit and charm, intricate concoctions of sounds stimulate inspiration and awe. Some pieces create inner holiness, some utter delight, others sheer joy and softer ones’ devotion and peace. Music has that power to evoke feelings. Be transported! Music by Debussy, Fauré, Ibert, Marais and a few Irish surprises mixed in between. Karin Leitner is a renowned Concert Flautist, travelling worldwide as a soloist and with chamber music partners. Born in Vienna, but Irish in her soul, she lived in Birr, Co. Offaly, London and Vienna. She played in the Stage Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, BBC Symphony, London Mozart Players, London West end (Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables) as well as in the Irish Chamber Orchestra. She composed her own music for flute, harp and orchestra and has 4 self-composed CDs favourably reviewed in the Irish Music Magazines, and 3 deep relaxation CDs in 432 Hertz for wellbeing, as well as 3 classical/Irish CDs and an Irish/Jazzy CD. She has more than 35 Million clicks on her YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/karinleitner and played live for Kevin Spacey and Christoph Waltz. She was composer in residence in Tehran, Iran and got an award from United Nations for playing in Nepal during the civil war. www.karinleitner.com Known for her quirky and engaging performances, Rosanna Moore is fast gaining recognition internationally as a harpist and actress appearing as a soloist, chamber musician or orchestral player. Moore has won accolades for her performances with the World Harp Festival, Marcel Tournier and Tierra47 competitions. Her writings have recently been published by both Harp Column and Contemporary Music Review. She was awarded the O1B visa which recognises her as an ‘individual of extraordinary ability’. In the 22/23 season, she performed the US premiere of Kelly Marie-Murphy’s cello and harp concerto, performed the Ginastera and Debussy concerti, and toured Michael Betteridge’s new work ‘Voices of the Sands’. In the 23/24 season she will premiere ‘Extraordinary Motion: Concerto for Electric harp and Orchestra’ by Grammy winner, DJ Sparr with New Hampshire Symphony, conducted by Roger Kalia. As an educator, Rosanna is Assistant Lecturer of Harp at Dublin Conservatoire. She completed her doctorate at the Eastman School of Music with a minor in theatre, Performers’ Certificate and Arts Leadership certificate. Prior to this, she studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music. www.rosannaharp.com
