The concert is the final event of the 2-day "Scoil Samhraidh Dr Seán Ó Nualláin", as a tribute to his life and legacy. Melanie'sunique fusion of jazz with traditional music mixes the two great traditions: original songs in Gaelic and English co-composed by Melanie and Sean while songs co-composed with Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill and influenced by Gaelic poetry will also be featured. The concert will also include favourite jazz standardsby the great jazz composers. Melanie will be joined by her jazz musicians Scott Flanigan on Piano, Dave Mooney on Bass and special guests Brewen Favrau from Brittany on Uileann pipes & low whistle and James Patrick Gavin from the London-Irish community on fiddle, both of whom have played with Seán and Melanie over the years. Melanie's Gaelic jazz sound was a great hit at last year's Fleadh Cheoil, and this concert promises to be a very special unforgettable night ! Not to be missed! All welcome! Tá fáilte romhaibh go léir! Míle buíochas le Foras na Gaeilge as a dtacaíocht.
