The Grannies

Meet Bille and Frieda, a bit bored with life, these cheeky friends decide to take to the streets and share with the world their life experiences whilst showing off their acrobatic tricks with their walking sticks.  An interactive performance that speaks to people of all ages. The two older ladies flirt, they provoke, they are shameless – but always end up putting a smile on people's faces. Older women are represented in a bold, wild way, enjoying the advantages of being old.The Grannies tour is co-produced by Bill & Fred Productions, Age and Opportunity and the Bealtaine Festival.Bill and Fred Productions – The duo bring a profound level of precision to their movement built through years of experience in improvisation, clowning and dance.Together the duo are breaking new ground artistically, bringing professional dance and clowning to new heights.Within the practice of improvisation they developed an intricate language of gestural and body movements. Their work derives from that humoristic movement language which focuses on the clownesque expression of dance. Abstract in style they bring their audience on a journey of discovery and laughter.
