The Legend Of Sleepy HollowThe Presentation Arts CentreFriday November 4th at 2pmA Halloween theatre treat for children aged 5 – 10 years old and their families. The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow is a classic Gothic story by American author Washington Irving, and adapted by Mike Brooks. It is often read around Halloween and has been adapted on stage and screen many times. The story is set in 1790, in Sleepy Hollow, a small town near New York. The place is home to many tales of the supernatural especially that of The Headless Horseman. Ichabod Crane, a school teacher from Connecticut moves into town. He is superstitious and believes all the local legends. He soon becomes a rival to Brom Bones for the affections of Katrina. She rejects Ichabod. Perhaps the Headless Horseman wants Ichabod to leave town too, or is it Brom in disguise? Barking Dog Theatre Company's two talented actors (with the help of some puppets and children from the audience) present this exciting tale, specially adapted for children. With original music and audience participation, as well as use of puppetry and mime, this afternoon play is the perfect way to finish your child's Halloween festivities before the bells of Christmas start jingling!
