Bull Ring Mall – Application Information

​​Wexford County Council in association with Wexford Arts Centre
invites applications for a limited number of available artists/creatives work spaces in the Creative Hub situated in the Bull Ring Mall, Main Street,
in the centre of Wexford town.

Available unit Unit 6

There is one unit available to rent on a short term basis until 30th September 2024. The rental rate includes heating, lighting and Wifi. The units can be used for private work space as well as public gallery/shop/open studio, art workshop space, which will contribute to cultural tourism offer in the town.

Unit 6  €320 per month includes kitchen, toilet, sink – ideally suited to sharing
Rent is inclusive of electricity and WIFI

Please note these are public facing studio/gallery spaces with glass fronts that face onto a public walkway. Artists will be expected to be present and making use of their studio/gallery spaces at least three days a week and required to provide some element of public inclusion during their tenancy especially during Wexford Festival Opera as part of Wexford Fringe Festival which may be in form of artist talk/open studio/gallery, etc to be agreed with management in advance.

There is a walk way which is open to the general public from 10am-5.30pm Monday – Saturday with extension to Sundays and evenings 8pm during agreed periods with management i.e. Wexford Opera Festival and summer.

This application is open to artists/creatives based in Wexford and are offered on a 12-month lease. Priority criteria for assessment is given to applications which support artists/creatives in Wexford County and enhances cultural tourism offer in Wexford.

The Creative Hub units are situated in a building in the centre of Wexford town with access from North Main street Wexford and wheelchair access from Mallin Street. Residents are expected to comply with required management security and facilities maintenance requirements.

Rent to be paid monthly in advance by direct debit. Group proposals are considered but the group must nominate one individual to represent the group for rental payment on behalf of the group as well as for other management correspondence. Prior to renting, artists are required to supply proof of insurance indemnifying Wexford County Council and Wexford Arts Centre against any cost, claim or demand arising from breach of warranty. Liability Insurance must be for a minimum of €6.5 million for any one accident.

  • A cover Letter

to include; how you intend to utilise the unit e.g. to work on a commission, to prepare for an exhibition, set up gallery/open studio/shop for arts sales.

  • Current CV (3 pages max) or CV’s for group proposal.
  • Work Space Plan

Explain your work space plan, giving details of what materials and processes you intend to use.

  • Artist’s/Creatives Statement (Max 500 words)
  • Image/ media list;
  • A detailed list of images/media (6 max, jpg. files only, 1MB max each)

A selection committee will review your application and make recommendations. The selection committee bases its decision solely on what you provide.
