Saturday Art Club Ages: 8-12 yearsOur Saturday Art Club gives older children the opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of art-making while working with our team of professional artists. This season children will paint, draw and create mixed media pieces. Taking a close look at the work of famous artists, children will discover what the artists made and how they worked; taking inspiration to create their own pieces in response. Please complete this Registration Form and return either by email to boxoffice@wexfordartscentre.ieor in person when attending the class.By exploring more materials and looking at new ways to create 2D and 3D work the Little Artists and the Saturday Art Club attendees will work on skills; of looking, of listening, of conceiving, planning and realising work. They will experiment with more fibre arts and evolve their understanding of clay. As always, they will continue to develop their knowledge of significant art movements and artists, growing their confidence as art viewers and makers.May 13th Wk1: Developing skills in clay, building sculptures using armature.May 20th Wk. 2: To coincide with National drawing day we will experiment with different drawing techniques and materials including; graphite, charcoal, pen and more. May 27th Wk3: Textile Art; Drawing with thread.June 10th Wk4: Tour of current exhibition and associated workshop.June 17th Wk5: Some colourful fun with printmaking, stencils & chine collé. June 24th Wk6: Creating art from sound, what does sound look like?
