Lift Residency 2026

ISACS and Wexford Arts Centre are thrilled to announce that the LIFT Residency will return from 23rd-27th November 2026.

The LIFT Residency is an artist development program by the ISACS Network and Wexford Arts Centre supporting solo and duo ground-based circus artists. It provides creation space, professional mentoring, technical support, and a financial stipend for a week funded by the Arts Council of Ireland.

Check out the highlights of last year’s LIFT Residency with Tumble Circus. Artists Ken Fanning and Tina Segner developed a new show, Won’t be Told, which debuted in Wexford Arts Centre in November 2025. Following the residency, their show has travelled across Ireland via the Bealtaine Tour.

What is included?

  • 5 days studio space in Wexford Arts Centre (23rd – 27th November 2026)
  • Accommodation in Wexford Town from (22nd-28th November 2026)
  • Mentoring support from the ISACS and Wexford Arts Centre’s teams
  • A €2,000 stipend (to cover two people)
  • An opportunity to share work in front of a live audience at the end of the residency.

Funding for this residency will cover two people. This could be either a solo circus artist with a mentor/collaborator or duo circus artists.

We are seeking artists who are:

  • Interested in developing a show idea with the intention of touring
  • Current ISACS members
  • Have not availed of an ISACS programme or bursary in the previous two years

We especially encourage artists who self-identify as belonging to a minority or disadvantaged group to apply.

ISACS has access funding available for artists who have additional support needs. Contact info@isacs.ie for more information about this support.

Please note:

Due to the nature of the venue, this residency is not suitable for aerial work or other apparatus which require a large stage area, overhead height (above 3.5m) or which could cause damage to a wooden floor.  For further information about the venue please refer to the Theatre technical spec here. If you have any questions please contact info@isacs.ie.

Not a member of ISACS yet? Join us today and avail of the benefits of joining our community.

Application deadline

The application portal will close on 15th September 2026 at 5pm.

LIFT is supported by County Wexford Arts Department, Wexford Arts  Centre and Arts Council Ireland.
