Blackstairs Mountain Theatre return to our chapel stage with their latest theatre production Sky Road, written by Jim Nolan and directed by John O'Gorman.
This enthralling play begins on a summer evening in a coastal village in the south of Ireland. Frank Conroy has recently been appointed Minister for the Environment. The full truth about one night’s traumatic events on the Sky Road have yet to unfold. Four years later their effect and the dealings of Conroy’s son, a local county councilor set to profit by a planning permission decision, finally hit home.
Sky Road confirms the author’s sense of dramatic form and social concern. By dissecting the morality of private needs and public ambitions Sky Road lays bare the tension between loyalty and responsibility and posits the way a family might reassemble a life in the aftermath of tragedy.
Starring Murt Murphy, Norma Doyle, Alex Murphy, Eimear Crean, Anthony Finn and Andy Lehane.
