Group: Christmas Craft Exhibtion & Fair

June 11, 2020 by Wexford Arts Centre

Christmas Craft Exhibition & Fair
2nd December – 23rd December 2017

Official opening: Saturday 2nd December at 2pm
Opened by Lord Mayor of Wexford, Councilor Jim Moore
Choral Music by Quay Notes
If you follow County Wexford Craft Trail to Wexford Arts Centre this December, you will discover the Members’ Annual Exhibition and Christmas Craft Fair, opening on Saturday 2nd December at 2pm. Official launch by The Lord Mayor of Wexford, Councillor Jim Moore, with choral music by Quay Notes – refreshments served. All are welcome to attend. The Fair will close on Saturday the 23rd December. Open from Monday to Friday 10a.m. to 5p.m., and Saturdays from 10a.m. to 4p.m.

When you discover the fine work of this skilled group of professional practitioners, at the forefront of their county’s craft renewal, you will be thrilled by the choice on offer. Handmade work, in natural materials, comes at price points from €10.00 to €1,000 +.

Choose a luxurious rug by Ceadogan, to warm your freshly decorated guest room. Add a pot made with confidence and a sure touch by Paul Maloney, Mairead Stafford, or Patricia Howard to a colourful fused glass piece by Annette Whelan. Terry the Weaver creates meticulously woven tapestries to warm the walls and delight the eye.

With fashionable hats by milliner Patsy Flood, and richly coloured silk scarves by Mairead Carbery, you will find something to tempt in Wexford. Well known New Ross based sculptor Gilly Thomas’s bronze horse heads, and crouching hares will delight animal lovers everywhere. Blacksmith Dainius and Jeweller Lina Varnelis bring the inspired metal work of Varna Studio to the Christmas Fair.

This year we extend a warm welcome to new Trail members Rebecca Homfray, Fine Art Print Maker, and Bianca Divito, Glass Artist, who will be exhibiting with the group for the first time. In the upstairs gallery members will show their choicest individual pieces.

Craft, delivered to this standard, evokes creativity and gives birth to beauty. Make your Gifts Craft, this Christmas – because you know they’re worth it!

The Christmas Craft Exhibition & Fair will run in Wexford Arts Centre from 2nd December till 23rd December 2017 and will be opened daily from Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

All are welcome to attend. For more information on the exhibition and fair please contact catherine@wexfordartscentre.ie. For more information on the Craft Trail please contact Terry Dunne terrytheweaver@eircom.net.
