Lisa Byrne, Are You Married? Acrylic and Book Pages on Board.

Lisa Byrne is a visual artists and painter from Co.Wexford. Lisa studied Fine Art at Gorey School of Art (2009) and received her BA(Hons) degree in visual Art from Waterford Institute of Technology (2012).

Lisa’s body of work consists of portrait paintings, collages and drawings. This series of faces, developed over many years, are created from memories of faces, places, emotions & personalities, expressed through colour and form. They are built up over time and almost never finished. They are edited in short bursts adding pieces of the memory as they come and always from a different perspective. Each time they are worked on it is from a different perspective. This has created unique layers of paint, similar to layers of memories, changing and becoming less clear. These pieces are created in clusters, sometimes with five or six being created at one time, linking a sequence of styles, colours and technique throughout the series.
