Open call – Westgate Visual Arts Studios-Wexford town

The Arts Office, Wexford County Council in association with Wexford Arts Centre invites applications from visual artists based in Wexford for consideration of subsidised visual art studio rental for Studio 2 at Westgate studios, in Selskar Wexford, Y35X2DK.
Studio 2 is available to rent from Monday 5th January, 2026. The studio has shared toilet and reception area with artists from Studio 1 and 2.
Studio 2
€300 per month. 11ft wide x 14.7 ft length with windows and two doors.
There is also a shared reception, kitchen and accessible toilet area.
Rent includes all utilities: heat, light WIFI and bin costs. Free onsite parking available to tenants. Artist tenants must have own public liability insurance and keep spaces clean and take out their rubbish to dedicated areas weekly. Artist tenants expected to be working in studios at least five days a week. Minimum lease agreement 1 year. This can be extended to a maximum of 3 years subject to an annual review. Lease agreement will run until 31st December 2026.
Rent to be paid monthly in advance by direct debit to Wexford Arts Centre. Group proposals from visual artists are considered but the group must nominate one individual to represent the group for rental payment as well as for other management correspondence. Prior to renting, artists are required to supply proof of insurance indemnifying Wexford County Council and Wexford Arts Centre against any cost, claim or demand arising from breach of warranty. Liability Insurance must be for a minimum of €6.5 million for any one accident.

- A cover Letter
to include;how you intend to utilize the unit e.g. to work on a commission, to prepare for an exhibitions/open studio
- Current CV (3 pages max) or CV’s for group proposal.
- Work Space Plan;
Explain your work space plan, giving details of what materials and processes you intend to use.
- Artist’s/Creatives Statement (Max 500 words)
- Image/ media list;
- A detailed list of images/media (6 max, jpg. files only, 1MB max each)
Video Links: Please do not send video files with your application. Any video content must be submitted in the format of a single .pdf file with links to videos, hyperlinked and titled within the .pdf. (Please provide access passwords if needed.)

A selection committee will review your application and make recommendations. The selection committee bases its decision solely on what you provide. All applications will be notified by Friday 5th December.. Studio rental starts on Monday 5th January, 2026.
